Trek Fuel EX 5 Gen 6 Bike - 2025

Fuel EX 5 is a full-suspension trail bike that's ready to handle it all. With 150mm front and 140mm rear trail-taming suspension, a Shimano 1x12 drivetrain, a dropper post for getting low on descents, and hydraulic disc brakes, Fuel EX 5 hits the mark as a high-value, high-performance mountain bike with exceptional versatility.

Features

  • Fuel EX Gen 6 gives you 140/150mm of travel and slack, adjustable geometry for an extra capable ride, plus, in-frame storage on all models - even alloy
  • The dropper post lets you lower your saddle on the fly so it's out of the way on descents
  • The RockShox fork's Solo Air spring can easily be adjusted for a specific rider weight, and it's lighter than a coil spring
  • Its tubeless-ready wheels and tires will boost traction and help to reduce flat tires on the ride

The Perfect Bike!

When it comes to riding a Full-squish mountain bike, I prefer the Fuel EX over the Top Fuel and Slash. The Fuel EX finds a balance between short-travel and long-travel bikes. The 150/140mm provides more confidence when sending the bike down the trail than Top Fuel. At the same time, maintaining the trail's challenge, unlike the Slash. I have ridden both the Top Fuel and Slash before, and I always had difficulty choosing which to ride. Now, with the Fuel EX, I have finally found my everyday bike for the trails. It's truly the best of both worlds.

The Fuel Ex

The Fuel EX 5 is a versatile and capable MTB designed for various trails, from technical routes to flow lines. Whether plowing through rock gardens or simply casing those unforgiving jumps (👀), you can ride it confidently, knowing you are in control. However, this bike is slightly heavier than its pricier counterparts, so I wouldn't recommend using it for long ascents.
