So close, but not close enough

So close to being a great ruck! The downsides: 1) I'm between the Medium and Large - the Medium feels like a child's pack in every regard, the Large fits everywhere except the waist - no matter how tight I tighten it, it's just a smidge too loose! The adjustable waist strap is nice, but a little more velcro and I would think I could make this work 2) This ruck has the same fatal flaw sternum strap design as Osprey - from the first time using it, you can hear the sternum strap straining and squeaking - it DOES NOT stay put and constantly slides up - and I cringe waiting for it to pop off its rails or break altogether (the reason I dropped Osprey)... while carrying 50lbs. Other than the fit and the horrific sternum strap design, this is THE most comfortable ruck I've ever put on. When it comes to 100L+, I've recently tried Osprey (terrible sternum strap), Mystery Ranch (terrible shoulder straps that constantly slip and need adjusted), and the Gregory Denali with sternum straps that stay in-place but have a metal on fabric design that just destroys itself after 50 or so miles. Back to the Baltoro - this would be a great pack if they had more overlap in sizes and implemented a more robust sternum strap that would stay put and not be subject to failure (you don't realize how important the sternum strap is until it breaks on Day 2 of a 10-day trip!).
