Return Policy Guidelines

Purchases can be returned or exchanged by mail or at any Al’s Sporting Goods location - whether you bought the item online, in-store, or over the phone.

    90 days from the date of purchase

  • Condition

    Products must be returned in their original, unused condition, including all tags, accessories, and packaging.

  • Proof of Purchase

    Required for all returns and exchanges (receipt, order confirmation email, packing slip, or order number).

HOW TO RETURN YOUR ITEMS

Easy Returns at Our Stores

Bring the item and your proof of purchase to any one of our store locations. Our team will promptly assist you.

Mail-in Returns

Follow these easy steps to initiate a mail-in return:

  • Contact our Customer Service team:

  • Receive your Return Authorization and prepaid shipping label.

  • Ship your item back using the provided label. A return shipping fee of $7.99 will apply to standard items.

Oversized Items

Mail-In Returns for Oversized Items: Some oversized items are eligible for a return via our Mail-in Returns process are subject to an oversized shipping fee of $21.95 which will be deducted from the refund amount that we issue back to you.

  • A flat oversize shipping fee of $21.95 applies to eligible oversized items.

  • Any item that weighs in excess of 32 lbs.

Not Eligible for Mail-In Return: The following items must be returned in-store and cannot be returned by mail or via our Mail-in Returns process:

  • Kayaks & Canoes

  • Noninflatable Paddleboards (SUPs)

  • Patio Furniture

  • Rooftop Cargo Boxes

  • Smokers

  • Surfboards

  • Treadmills

Return Policy Exceptions

To ensure a smooth and simple return process, all returned items will be inspected upon receipt. Items must meet the criteria outlined in our Return Policy to qualify for a refund or exchange. Items that are returned cannot be sent back to you. Please review all return conditions carefully before submitting your return.


Damage and Usage Fees

Returns that are damaged, missing parts, not in original packaging, have removed tags, or show signs of use (unrelated to our error) may incur a restocking fee of up to 50% of the item’s price.


Excessively Dirty Gear

We may decline any return that is not in new and unused condition.


Final Sale Items (Not eligible for return or exchange include but are not limited to):


  • Custom or Special Orders

  • Items requiring Fuel or Gasoline

  • Clearance items or those marked “Final Sale”

  • Airbeds

  • Firearms, Ammunition, Hunting Bows, Archery Arrows, and Crossbows

  • Gun Powders, Primers, Exploding Targets, and Black Powder

  • Gift Cards

  • Portable Camp Lavatories

  • Rock Climbing Gear & Equipment

  • Underwear

  • Perishable items past expiration date

  • Lift tickets

  • Hazmat items

  • Electric scooters, ebike range extenders, products that contain lithium batteries


Notable Exceptions


  • Bicycles: Must be unused and returned within 24 hours of in-store purchase or delivery date. Bicycles that are used during the 24-hour window or that do not have all original labels and tags cannot be returned. All bicycles must be checked off by a certified technician before the return is approved.

  • Used Baseball & Softball Bats: All BBCOR, USSSA, USA and ASA bats must be unopened in original factory wrap; used bats are not eligible for return.

  • Electronics: Electronics must be returned in their original factory packaging and contain all manuals, parts, and accessories.

  • Racket Strings and Fishing Line: Once string has been installed on a racket or fishing line has been spooled onto a reel, the item is no longer eligible for return or exchange.

Return Policy Misuse

We’re committed to treating every customer fairly and keeping our return process straightforward and reasonable. In rare cases where our return policy is misused, we reserve the right to deny a return or exchange - even returns or exchanges that may comply with the Return Policy Guidelines. This helps protect the integrity of our policy and ensures a consistent experience for everyone.

Exchange Policy

Mail-In Exchanges — Free & Easy

If you'd like to exchange an item for a different size or color, we're here to help! Follow these simple steps for a free exchange:

1. CONTACT US FIRST

Items that are returned cannot be sent back to you. Please review all return conditions carefully before submitting your return.

2. RETURN YOUR ITEM

Use the free label to send the original item back to us. Unlike standard returns, the $7.99 shipping fee will not be deducted from your refund for an exchange.


Note: Oversized items are subject to a $21.95 return fee. For details, please see the “Oversized Items” section in our Return Policy.

3. YOUR ITEM

You’re welcome to purchase your replacement item at any time. If you’d like assistance placing your new order, our customer service team is happy to help — feel free to give us a call or reach out online!


Note: that clearance and discontinued items may not be available in a different size or color at the original purchase price.

In-Store Exchanges

Refund Policy

REFUNDS

We’re committed to processing refunds quickly and efficiently. The timing and method of your refund will depend on how and where the original purchase was made. Please note: once a refund is issued, your bank or credit card provider may take up to 10 additional business days to post it to your account.

ONLINE AND PHONE ORDERS

  • Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.

  • Refund processing begins after your return has been received at our warehouse and inspected to ensure it meets return conditions.

IN STORE PURCHASES

  • Returned in-store: You’ll receive your refund to the original payment method. If the original payment method is not available at the time of the return, a gift card will be issued for the value of the refund.

PROOF OF PURCHASE

Items returned with valid Proof of Purchase will be refunded based on the original form of payment (e.g., the credit card used for the purchase). Acceptable Proof of Purchase includes:


  • Order number

  • Order confirmation email

  • Original sales receipt

  • Packing slip

RETURN LIMITATIONS

  • Al’s Sporting Goods, Inc. and its affiliates reserve the right to limit returns or exchanges, even with Proof of Purchase.

  • Customer return and exchange activity is recorded in a company database to track customer return information.

PRICING GUARANTEE

We stand by our prices - no exceptions. If you're ever charged more than the advertised price at the time of purchase, we’ll make it right and honor the lower price. This guarantee applies to current promotions only and does not extend to purchases made before a sale begins.

Frequently Asked Questions

We accept returns within 90 days of purchase, as long as the item is in new and resalable condition. Some exclusions apply (see our Return Policy).

Certain items are considered final sale and cannot be returned under any circumstances. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Custom or special orders

  • Items that contain fuel or gasoline

  • Clearance or “Final Sale” items

  • Airbeds

  • Firearms, ammunition, hunting bows, arrows, and crossbows

  • Gun powders, primers, exploding targets, and black powder

  • Gift cards

  • Portable camp lavatories

  • Rock climbing gear and equipment

  • Underwear

  • Perishable items past their expiration date

  • Lift tickets

  • Select hazardous materials (e.g., Segway scooters, e-bike range extenders, and items with lithium batteries)

Note: This list is not exhaustive. Al’s Sporting Goods reserves the right to determine item eligibility based on safety, hygiene, or return policy misuse.

For in-store returns or exchanges:

Bring your item and proof of purchase to any Al’s Sporting Goods location. Our team will help you on the spot.

For mail-in returns or exchanges:

  • Contact our Customer Service team to request a Return Authorization and prepaid shipping label:

  • For returns, ship the item back using the provided label. A standard return shipping fee of $7.99 will be deducted from your refund.

  • For exchanges, place a new order for the desired item. Then contact Customer Service for a free return label for your original item. Once we receive your return, we’ll issue a full refund for it.

  • Returns with a gift receipt will be refunded in the form of a gift card or store credit.

  • Returns without valid Proof of Purchase are only accepted at store locations (not for online returns) and will receive a gift card for the item's lowest selling price in the past 180 days. 

  • Gift cards can be redeemed both in-store and online at Als.com.

  • A government issued ID will be required.

We understand receipts can get misplaced! If you no longer have your receipt, we may still be able to look up your purchase using one of the following:


  • Order number

  • Order confirmation email

  • Packing slip

  • The original credit or debit card used for the purchase


If we're unable to verify the purchase, we may not be able to process the return or exchange. We recommend keeping your proof of purchase until you’re sure you’re satisfied with your order.

Yes, to be eligible for a return or exchange, items must be in new, unused condition and include all original packaging, tags, accessories, and documentation.

Returns missing original packaging or components may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 50%, or may be denied altogether depending on the condition of the item.

Tip: If you’re unsure whether your item qualifies, feel free to contact our Customer Service team before sending it back.

Once we receive your return, please allow 3–5 business days for our team to inspect the item and process your refund.

After the refund is issued, it may take up to 10 additional business days for your bank or credit card provider to post the funds to your account, depending on their processing times.

You’ll receive a confirmation email as soon as your refund is issued.

Note: Refund timelines may vary slightly during peak seasons or holidays.

In most cases, no restocking fee is charged. However, a restocking fee of up to 50% may apply if returned items are:


  • Damaged

  • Missing parts

  • Not in original packaging

  • Returned with tags removed

  • Showing signs of use not related to our error


To avoid restocking fees, make sure your return meets all the conditions outlined in our return policy.

Items must be in clean and resalable condition to be eligible for a return.

In-store returns are always free. Simply bring your item and proof of purchase to any Al’s Sporting Goods location, and our team will be happy to assist you.


If you want to ship it back to us via mail, contact our Customer Service team. They will be able to provide you with a prepaid return label. Using our label, there is a $7.99 fee deducted from the refund. 

For mail-in returns:

  • Standard items: A $7.99 return shipping fee will be deducted from your refund when using our prepaid label.

  • Exchanges: Return shipping is free, and we’ll also cover shipping on your replacement order (if it's over $50).

  • Oversized items: A $21.95 flat fee applies to eligible oversized items returned by mail.

  • Non-returnable by mail: Some large or bulky items (like kayaks, treadmills, and safes) must be returned in-store and are not eligible for mail-in returns

Yes! Bring your online order to any of our stores for a free return. Having your order number handy will make the process quicker and easier. 

If you use our prepaid return label, we’ll track your package. If you used your own shipping method, please obtain a tracking number for reference.

If your item is defective, please contact us at cs@als.com before returning it. Some items may need to be processed through the manufacturer’s warranty.

Yes! Returning an item for an exchange is free. Please reach out to our Customer Service team for a prepaid return label.

To accommodate holiday shopping, all purchases made in October are eligible for return through January 31 of the following calendar year—regardless of the original 90-day return window. All standard Return Policy conditions still apply.
