Marlin 5 is a trail-worthy daily rider that's perfectly suited for everyday adventures, on and off the trail. Marlin Gen 3 gives you serious trail capability, with big tire clearance and slack, confidence-boosting geometry that keeps you stable from singletrack to city
Fender mounts make it easy to accessorize, so your mountain bike can double as a rugged commuter
Its ThruSkew system is safer, simpler, and stronger, plus it makes removing the rear wheel easy for flat fixes in a pinch
Internal routing makes it easy to add a dropper post that lets you lower your saddle on the fly for more confident descending
Marlin models in sizes XXS and XS have a curved top tube and lower standover height that makes it easier for smaller riders to mount and dismount
9-speed Shimano CUES drivetrain
100mm front fork with lockout feature for better efficiency on flat surfaces

Senior bike rider

I am very happy with this bike. I am a 70 year old rider that rides a combination of bike paths and trails. Tires are excellent, shifting is flawless, love the brakes. Purchased this bike from my local bike shop that specializes in Trek bikes. They have lifetime free adjustments and expert maintenance.

I would recommend this for a beginner

I bought it at a local bike shop wood n wave and I have had it for 2 days it is a big step up from a marlin 4 my previous bike I would recommend this to anyone cause it is budget friendly and feels really nice on trails and streets
